The Scale Can Kiss My Rear End!

Okay, so I only officially weigh myself once a month, but I jumped on the scale this morning. It was up a little. Not a happy finding. I didn't make open gym at the box, so I needed to come up with something to do today.

I decided to put my running shoes on and go for a run. A 5k around my neighborhood. I did the whole thing without stopping!! Now, I haven't been running lately. I've been doing Crossfit 3-4 times a week. I did a 2 mile run about 3 weeks ago, just to see if I could do it. Other than that...nada...no running. When I was running, I did a 3-5 minute run with a 1-2 minute walk break. So in turns of running, a 5k w/o walk breaks is a huge gain for me!

Now why do I say the scale can kiss my rear end? Because, not so long ago I would of seen that gain and given up. Not now though. My body is better than that! I am getting definition in my arms. I can do things that I didn't think I would ever be able to do. I'm no longer valuing my body by the number on the scale, but by what I can make it do and how it surprises me!


I tried to figure out the source of this picture, but couldn't.
