2014 Tampa Bay Times Turkey Trot

Friday, December 19, 2014

In 2010, D & I decided to do our first 5K, the St Petersburg Times Turkey Trot. We walked it. Four years and a name change later, we've done over 70 races! This race also marked the first time we wore our Team Hope for the Warriors Tampa colors! D & I be wearing these colors at many run races from now on!

This year was special. Gianna and Mommy joined us! I believe this was Gianna's third 5K with us and Mommy's second!

It was in the low 50s I believe but for us Floridians... emoticon

This 5K was all about the fun and kicking off Thanksgiving in a healthy way!

This Duo was quite the hit as they were the first musical team to encounter after the half mile mark.
About .5 miles in, we started to go through a major neightborhood! Lots of residents kicked off their Thanksgiving breakfast outside, cheering us on!

This band had the right idea with their family gathering!

I love this Bluegrass band every year. As we passed they did Man of Constant Sorrow from the Oh Brother, Where Art Thou soundtrack! It also marked a round 2 mile mark.

As we came to within two blocks of the stadium finish, this group did excellent jazz style Christmas numbers.

At the 3 mile marker and entrance to the stadium, D & Mommy started to have fun to Gianna's delight!

I know Gianna enjoyed seeing this Finish Line along with about 17,000 of our closest friends!

No question, this Turkey Trot was the best for the pure intrinsic value and family! Let's see if I can get them back out there in January 2015!

Happy Holidays, Y'all!
