Scared To Go To Wal Mart

Tuesday, December 16, 2014

I have been needing some things from Wal Mart for days, but I have been reluctant to go. In fact, a few days back I went to a local grocery store and bought milk and a few other things so that I wouldn't have to go to Wal Mart.

It is not about Wal Mart, I like the items they sell. Some of them a little too much. There are things (food items) in that store that have some kind of magical pull on me. It is very difficult to shop there and not buy some of my favorites.

Today I went to Wal Mart and I did buy a bag of the Ranch flavor Veggie Fries. O.K., I am not perfect, but I did only buy ONE (1) bag. emoticon I was fortunate that they were out of the Ranch flavor Veggie Chips. I could eat a bunch of bags of those.

I have very little willpower when it comes to some things. I did come home with popcicles and rice crispy treats. But I know for sure that I won't eat all of those in one sitting. I have very good discipline when it comes to some things, but not good at all with other things.

I tried to shop fast, but not able to do that since I am not so young anymore and I have bad legs and bad knees. emoticon

Too bad I can't have temporary tunnel vision while I am passing by certain isles. Maybe there could be one of those electric shock buzzers for me when I get close to the food Items that are bad for me. emoticon

Anyway, glad I am home and away from temptations. emoticon

A couple of suggestions so you are not fearful of shopping at Walmart:

    1. Be sure to eat before you go so as not to be driven by hunger.

    2. Shop with a supportive and stern friend who will help limit your poor dietary purchases.

Hope this helps and best wishes.

Oh you poor thing. I feel your pain. Crunchy-Salty talks to me every time. My fear is BOGO on any chips, at my grocery chain. I don't have that problem at Walmart. They have the worst parking lot, so I don't go there very often.
Costco has really good Ridgy Chips. When I cave & bring them home, I take a small bowl for me & immediately knock on my neighbor's door & hand over the bag to her teens.
My advice to you- eat some, kill the craving... then give the rest away or put them in the trash.

Having healthy snacks at home that I actually like (like coconut cashews) really helps with the temptation purchases in the store...'dunno if that works for you.
