Wow! It's been over a month since I last blogged and so much has happened. In my last blog I wrote about Destination Indy and that my husband and I were taking steps towards moving to Indianapolis. In my last blog, I said I'd been looking at houses in Indy but that we were nowhere near buying one yet. I stand corrected. Yep, we bought a house.

We're closing on it January 2nd.
I've also interviewed for a job that I'd like with the State. I've made it through the interview process. But in Indiana, all new hires with the State have to be approved by a strategic hiring committee. There shouldn't be anything that stops me from getting approved, but it takes time. It takes at least three weeks for the approval and sometimes longer. I'm in week 2 right now. Once I'm approved, I will receive an official offer which then will allow me to give my notice in my current job. Realistically, I would be starting my new job in mid-January. And I am so excited about it!
We are just in awe of God's perfect timing in all of this. We drove by our soon-to-be new home on Thanksgiving when we were visiting DH's parents. The owner was available to show it to us the next day. It had everything we were looking for AND it was in a perfect location in the northeast side of Indy. It's about 12 minutes from my hopefully soon to be job - about 20 minutes to downtown - and less than 1/2 mile to a bike trail that leads to more bike trails.
We have been praying for God to close doors if this is not what He wants for us. But it's been green lights all the way and just confirmation after confirmation.
So that's why I've been a bit MIA lately. And I may be for a bit longer. Now the packing begins. Ugh. That's something I'm not looking forward to, but it's necessary.
Once we get some of the things moved down, it's time to put our current house on the market. For a while, my DH and I may be in different houses - until our current house sells - which means we will only see each other on weekends. But we are both trusting God on this too. He's in the driver's seat on all this - we are just along for the ride. And what a ride it is!
For those of you who pray, prayers would be appreciated. Specifically that DH's company will be open to him working remotely (that way he won't have to change jobs) - other people at his company work remotely so we are hoping it won't be an issue for him. And for God's perfect timing with my job offer and notice to my current employer. They know all the details of where I am in the process but I haven't given my official notice yet - not until I have an official offer. And finally for a smooth move.
I miss Sparking regularly and hopefully I will be back at it soon. Until then, keep Sparking everyone!
