You know what they say, "failure to plan is planning to fail." Well I tried to avoid that today. With my wonderful husband's help, we prepared a TON of meals to either crockpot or reheat for the month of December. We have a baby due on the 16th (Not sure I will make it that long) and that means a cut in my pay check. Now this, as I see it, is a good chance and motivation to cut out spending the money to eat out. Together with about an hour preparation (plus some cooking time), I prepared about 20 meals. I have 3-4 more to make tomorrow. Now that is without having any leftovers!!!! We, of course will add fresh produce later (I don't like crockpot veggies, they get mushy) but we are prepped quite a bit!!!! Despite having a baby and this HUGE transition, I am going to get my health back in check. Working full time, running my own business (working towards working at home with my children) and being wife/ mommy of 2, I need all the energy I can get!!!!
I want to set small goals, one maybe two at a time, and give myself time to achieve them. For the past 58 days, I have been working on the goal of reading a few passages or so from the bible a night. I am following a bible plan app (when I finish one, I move on to a new one) and reading through the New Testament. I have not missed a single day and it has become a habit. I feel closer to God, although I am having more spiritual attacks. Due to this, I am going to pick positive thinking as my next goal (faking it til I make it!) and taking my supplements daily. I feel like these are two that I can manage at the same time. Supplements are just a matter of me not being lazy and actually taking them when my reminder goes off. Positive thinking will help with every other goal I will have. I also don't want to pick something too challenging since any day now I will have a HUGE life adjustment. I will also be having a focus on drinking enough water...this isn't a goal because I like water and can drink an adequate amount when I remember.
To achieve these goals, I am using apps on my phone. One is called Lift and the other is just a reminder, to do app. I think my food preparation will also allow me to focus on eating at home more; plus it was WAY cheaper than weekly shopping or eating out. It was a great realization for me!!!!
