Day 25- A Day Off
As thankful as I’ve been to have things keeping me busy on my “down time” from school, I was definitely thankful for a day of rest. I feel like I’ve been going, going, going! Without a rest and my immune system doesn’t always find such a schedule to be very kosher. If I didn’t give myself a day, I’d probably end up with a terrible cold or something. So, it was the first day since the previous Tuesday that I could have a chance to literally do nothing… no kitchen cleaning (although that still desperately needs to be done), no food prep, no cooking, no this or that. I stayed in bed with my Netflix and the cat snuggled up next to me. I ate leftovers for lunch. I enjoyed not even getting dressed! I did end up having to get up and go to the store for Thanksgiving ingredients, but that took like an hour and a half total out of my entire lazy day. The downtime is exactly what I needed to be able to tackle the rest of this week with the holiday. And I’m thankful the lazy day!

Since I don't have a photo of me being totally lazy, here's a photo of Kyle being totally lazy.

Day 26- Heated Blankets

It’s been weird weather in my neck of the woods… or desert, rather. Warm during the day- and I do mean shorts and t-shirts warm- and fairly chilly at night. And then downright cold in the middle of the night. So, there isn’t really a reason to run our heat at this point. Yeah, the night is chilly, but not enough to heat up the place. And the really, really cold part of the night is only for a few hours. Which makes a heated blanket totally perfect! I finally had to whip mine out and put it on my bed last night. I’ve been getting away with just an extra blanket in addition to my quilt, but on the occasion that the cat or cats decide to snuggle up with me for the night, they can be total blanket hogs! That is exactly what happened the night before last. I woke up in the middle of night, practically falling off my bed and freezing. I turn to look and both brats are snuggled up together, hogging my extra blanket, and smack dab in the middle of my bed! I sleep solo on a queen size mattress! What is it with pets and taking up the specific space YOU’RE sleeping on?

Well, it was the perfect excuse to get my heated blanket out anyway. I love turning it on full blast about 10 minutes before I’m going to bed, so when I get between the covers, my bed is toasty and ready. The cats love the toasty comfort, too. Then, I turn it way, way down and enjoy perfect warmth the rest of the night. I didn’t want to leave my bed this morning! I am so thankful for my heated blanket!

And here's one of Louis being a fuzzy, warm robe hog!

LOL...Cats love out "butt spaces" in bed, chairs, couch etc! And they love those heat sources! But they are cuddle muffins and we love them!
Glad you got time off to be lazy...it is very theraputic!

We have a heated mattress pad. It makes getting up to a cold house very, very difficult.

Hahaha - my dogs are like your cats - they are on the bed an think it is THEIR spot. I suspect in their heads they are thinking, "Why is my human always taking up my spot?"

They do both look uber comfy in those shots.

I'm glad you had a lazy day by the way, because I know you have been on the go like a crazy person lately.

I hope you enjoy your Turkey day today.

Sounds lovely. I have taken to sleeping in my dressing gown as it gets so cold at night, and then struggling to take it off in the morning as it is so cozy.

Happy Thanksgiving. Hope your meal goes well. x
