I had my last long run this past weekend. I have 7 miles to do this coming Saturday, but honestly, that's no longer a "long" run. Don't get me wrong... it IS a long run, but it doesn't FEEL long to me anymore. Once I back off the mileage, it will someday be a long distance, but not now!
I'm going to run either tonight or tuesday night and then do a local Turkey Trot on Thursday. Saturday is 7 miles and then one week of pure "REST" YEAH!! Well, I'll probably do some walking and good stretching, but no running.
My mom & aunt are coming into town to see me run. They're going to be on the course cheering me on and then they and DH will be at the finish line and they can carry me back to the hotel. haha
My local running group, San Antonio RoadRunners, just posted that they'll be doing more training right after the holidays. One of the programs is built to increase speed, so I'm going to do that one. I'm looking forward to working on speed and shorter distances. They'll also be doing a walk to run 5K, and half marathon program.
