Haven't blogged in a while, so here goes.
I started the Couch to 5k workout last weekend. I went to a few stores that specialize in running shoes to get fitted and check my stride and gait. That was interesting... But I did buy a new pair of Asics. Now to start running...
Week one went pretty well, and I felt pretty beat up after each day, but I recovered easily. I started week two on Friday at the gym on the treadmill. It was tough but felt good. Then yesterday, since the weather was nice, I did week two, day two outdoors. Much tougher, and I'm a little more sore today. If it's anything like last week, I still should recover quickly. I liked running outside much better than the treadmill. But with winter coming, I'm not sure if I'll like running in the cold weather.
My goal is still to completely run a 5k this spring. Plus, I'm hoping to lose another 25 pounds by then.
At 52 years old, it's hard to believe I'm actually getting in shape.
