Really quick blog

Sunday, November 23, 2014

Hello to my Spark friends! I thought I would write a super quick blog today before I get on to my packing and tutoring. Packing because we are moving in two weeks to Dubai and tutoring because the kids need to take entrance exams for school and Norway is a bit behind scholastically. (Truly...Quin's teacher even admitted it.)

We have been doing a bit of "brushing up" for Quin in English and Math. It turns out that at this point with her reading and spelling she is kind of an "English as a second language" student. We had had to teach Liam to read in the past few weeks as he will be entering first grade if all goes well and here he is still in the barnehage system (daycare). It takes a lot of time, all of it. This is why I have not been here on Spark.

Sadly we have had some struggles with our stupid car an probably have to junk it as it decided this past week to fall apart! This whole driving thing in Norway has been a real trial! The good news is I have a drivers licence at least because I will surely need it in Dubai.

I have really been struggling with eating right and hit rock bottom this past Thursday with a day of eating so badly that I was literally ill in bed that night. Friday, Patrick and I decided to do a cleanse of sorts. Nothing drastic, just full of super healthy foods and lots of water. I am feeling a lot more in control now that we have a plan.

OK...gotta go...Patrick needs the computer for Skyoe. (getting some things finalised)

I miss you all and will be back soon!

No matter how much you wanted it, moving is always a lot of hard work and a few traumatic experiences. I can understand having the occasional melt-down, but I'm also sure you will get out of Dodge eventually. Good luck. emoticon

Good to hear from you! Best wishes on your move!!!

Take care of yourself and try to manage the stress... have some quiet time to breathe, drink water (isn't VOSS from Norway? The best water I've ever had!), rest, take 2 chocolates and call me in the morning. LOL

Moving is horrible for anybody, and I can't even imagine moving to another country. Be gentle with yourself about the eating. I suspect you're going to be getting in more than enough physical activity to compensate.

Every time some unknown feeling draws me to SP, I find that there is yet another exciting adventure happening in your life! So exciting to follow along on this new chapter. Hope it turns out to be all you want and more. :)

Just hang in there Ronna, so much stress with the move, and getting everything ready, so don't be too hard on yourself!

Super healthy food and water is a good idea, especially if you are doing it together!

    Yikes, Packing AND tutoring.
emoticon You are a great Mom.
emoticon Sorry to hear about the car. I agree though, having your license was huge, well worth your effort. I know it wasn't easy.
I very much know what you mean about the binge and feeling sick, no fun at all. I think sometimes we need to 'hit bottom' in order to reset. Balance is what I am looking for. I seem to go from extreme to extreme. Look for the middle of the road my friend. You have load going one and do not need to add more stress on yourself.

Don't worry about us either. We love you! Take it all one step, task, chore, glass of water at a time.

HUG, hugs and more hugs. Thanks so much for the blog.
