Yes, attend a class but also learn about one food a day and test 2 hours after eating so you can see which foods raise your sugar levels. This is especially important for your children as well since it is said that if the mother is a diabetic, a child is 50% more likely to become diabetic.

I used to have excruciating knee pain but once I got my blood sugar under control and lost weight I have no more pain. For 4 years now I am no longer in the pre-diabetic stage with a steady A1C of 5.6.

I stuck to a diet low in fat and carbs, and moderate in calories, low in sugar and moderate sodium. I eat plenty of nuts like pecans, walnuts, and almonds throughout the day, as they are rich in monounsaturated fats.

Take a peek at the team wall as I post info daily that may help you learn and also you might check out my recipes on the page....they are easy to prepare and I lost over 100 lbs in 2 years eating them.

You'll find once you get started and start to learn this will not be so daunting. I changed my lifestyle and find it easy to stay on track. Best Wishes

I'm so sorry to hear about you having diabetes. I hope they can help you to reverse this problem and achieve better health. Happy birthday to Elias and your son. He is really cute and so is your grand daughter.

You can do this. I remember about 14 years ago being diagnosed with diabetes!
I did not attend classes right away, but at least a year later, but they helped! I am still able to take Medication twice a day and doing well. It takes time to become comfortable with it and know your body, but you can do it!
Good Luck, if I can help, let me know!
