Life Changes

Life changes...that could be taken in a couple different ways. There have been changes in my life that have caused me to make other changes in my life. After mother died in February there were all kinds of changes. Would have been easier to deal with if mother had done the paperwork she should have. Do your loved ones a favor people! Get a will and power of attorney in place! Decide if you want a DNR and take care of that too! Talk to your local funereal director and get final arrangements started. Pre-plan! It's been 9 months and I'm still sorting things out.
Unfortunately, none of this has helped my health. I put on almost 30# and have had days when I could barely move. Finally got to a doctor a couple weeks ago and got put through a battery of tests. Results...high blood pressure, high cholesterol, elevated liver something or other and diabetes. No surprise there! 4 diabetics in 3 generations. I also had an irregular EKG which with everything else gave my doctor concern that I was "at risk of imminent heart attack"! Yeah, no stress there! Good news is meds are working, further tests show my heart is working as it should and the mammogram shows the Ta Ta's are healthy. Still have an ultrasound of the liver and gallbladder to do. Doctor is expecting results to be fatty liver disease because of my weight, but she feels that will resolve itself as I lose weight. More good news is I've gone from 260 to 253.4. Yay!

My mother planned things well and when died everything she owned I immediately owned. There was no will and no need for one.

My MIL didn't do too well. She should have set up a special needs trust for one of my husband's brother so it took us over 2 years to get the estate settled.

I'm with you on the health front. Same thing happened to me when my MIL died. I had no time for myself and no time to consider my health. Things went down the tubes and I'm digging out. Sounds like you are doing well. emoticon
