Gwen slept well, woke up this morning and wanted another grapefruit! Yummy. Then she wanted another one. Takes after me, I guess.
Makes me think.Weight Watchers has been a wonderful resource for me and I don't know that I would have lost the weight without getting started there. On WW you don't have to count fruits and non-starchy vegetables. However, you are suppose to eat "to satisfaction". I often skipped that part. Lots of years I have overeaten grapefruit, especially when I had a big source of them. In fact I lost weight overeating vegetables often and fruit occasionally.
I guess if you just have to overeat, freggies are the way to go. They do the least damage. But you can't say they do no damage.
One thing that hit me right between the eyes in the Racing Weight book is that Fitzgerald's formula gives you good reinforcement for the first three servings of fruits and the first three veggies, still considers the fourth serving a positive, but gives you negatives for the 5th or more serving.
One of the problems with overeating freggies is that you ingest more fiber than recommended and that can interfere with absorption of nutrients. It is best to never overeat. OK. I'm trying to learn. You don't just keep eating grapefruits even if they are free!
