It was a manic Monday. I made the calls to find out what was the problem with my VA pension competency review. After an hour with a very caring and qualified VA representative together we were able to establish the problem and hopefully the solution to the situation.

At some point along the way an error occurred. I applied for a competence review. The Va representative found out that at some point somehow an incompetence review is underway.

She then told me the steps I needed to take to handle this error. Friday I will need to go to the Pittsburgh Downtown Office and address this issue with a case worker.

I have been a patient with in the VA system for 30 years. I have learned a some things along the way. The major one is that about 95% of the staff at the VA place the care of the Veterans first. Those other 5% are just putting their 9 - 5 hour job and getting their pay check first, Sometimes this does help the Veteran and sadly other times this really hurts Veterans. Working within the system, I will say this has been improving over my 30 years as a patient. Also I have learned to avoid the 5% who I can tell are just their for their own pay check benefit.

Truth be told many of us are aware of this similar situation in almost every field of work. Those that just work for the pay check. And those who are dedicated to their profession. May those who are dedicated to their profession receive the benefits.

    Yes, you can mostly find great people to work with but at other times you can run into some real disasters. I hope and pray that you get this straightened out. So much running around.
