Good morning to you all, Not a bad one here, in the low 40,, overcast and windy. I mean really windy. our Sat. TV reception on our local channels is non-existent, so that means that the weather is changing. We are suppose to get snow the beginning of next week. Not looking forward to that.
Well, I have a new chore, a few time a day. Monday went I went out to let the horses into the barn for the night I heard a little kitten meowing, but didn't think much of it. We had one mother cat that had her kitten just a few weeks ago, and I knew it was hers. I should have gone and got it then, you see every time she has kitten she moves them so many times that she tends to lose them in the shuffle, and I have seen her with them and they looked like they were old enough to follow her. But this little girl got lose in the shuffle, and "mom put me here so here is where I will stay" , so Tues, and Wed. I still heard her meowing but Wed. night when I let them in it was meowing but a lot weaker, so I found it and could tell that the mom had abandoned it. It was so thin, so brought it in the house and mixed some cat food and milk together and put it in the blended and fed it. Boy, did it eat. Got a pet carrier out and took it out to the little barn where the rest of the cats are. Yesterday, brought it in 3 times and feed it, and this morning when I brought it in, fed it and it started to play with Merlins toys, so I think I am a mom to another critter. Just what I need, I have been a mother to calves, lamb, goats, puppies, kittens, and even baby crows that the grandkids found when they got blew out of there nest. I guess mothering days are never done.
Not much else going on around here, hubby is still bringing in bales, he has one field done and working on the other one. I usually help him but he is doing it different this year, and I miss getting in the tractor and helping. I did get in a mile walk yesterday, just walked here at home, found out that if I walk 10 times around our center drive it is a mile. That will help this winter, I will have a little protection and not have to walk on that old cold road. Merlin tried to keep up with me at first, then he started to cut across, and then he stopped all together and just watched me walked around and round. Duke, he never got up, he just watched, wasn't excited at all. They must have thought that I had lost it. Hubby got a kick out of watching Merlin cutting across, he was cheating.
Well, better GET at it. Linda
