November! Where the heck have I been?

Long time no blog! Sorry I haven't been all that active here, other than my daily check-in with the Hen House (if you're reading this and looking for an active team, come find us, and keep coming back!) emoticon

I am ready to seriously focus on my fitness. I have been lifting heavy at the gym, but only occasionally. (Thank goodness my membership is only $20 or I'd be paying an awful lot per-use!) That needs to step up. And for the past few weeks (months?) I haven't been getting anywhere close to my goal for walking. Like, averaging 4K or 5K steps only.

I have not gained weight, though, and am generally fitting comfortably into size 6 pants and 4 or XS shirts (which is super weird for me, having been heavy my whole life...), so I guess I have not been overeating too badly either! I seem to have successfully changed my "set weight" to 133-135. Which is awesome considering it sat at 195, then 180 for a long time, then 165 post-first-Spark-success... I am proud of myself.

I hope everyone had a fun Halloween! It is my absolute favorite holiday. We went to a Grateful Dead cover band show, where we were passed over for a costume prize due to late arrival at stage while getting wings back on, and bad lighting. Also, incredible jellyfish costume with LED hat and sparkly tentacles and such. Sigh. She totally deserved to win. It's OK.

I was some sort of psychedelic fairy thing. You can see my makeup in my profile photo, and here's a crappy full pic. My boyfriend Chris was a "black metal guy" as usual. emoticon




I just got back from Oregon a week ago, where I went to nurse my brother, who wrecked his motorcycle and is incredibly lucky to be alive. He is hurt pretty badly, but he will be OK, it seems like. I am so glad I was able to go... maybe I have had no job all this time for a good reason? Hmm. (Oh, yeah, still no job. At least I'm getting interviews finally, but no bites yet!)

Anyway... I can't believe it's November. Wow.

GOALS FOR THIS MONTH:
Get to the gym 3x/week, including a class or two, and increase my max deadlift and squat weights by 10# each
Average steps up to/ past 10K/day again
Start watching the carbs again
Tame the sugar monster (I have been indulging too much: my brother had a food-service-sized Nutella jar. Ack!)

Hope everyone is doing well! Hopefully I will have the time to be active again commenting on your blogs and feeds...
