Walking suprise

Friday, October 31, 2014

So I got the tracker one week ago. I wrote yesterday that I was suprised that I didn't walk that much at work. I'm a teacher for goodness sake, I'm on my feet all day long.

Well yesterday i thought for sure I would make my first goal of 6000 steps. I got a new little puppy that has more energy in her 3 pound body than I have in my entire being. Yea, no I didn't get 6000 steps. How can that be. Two walks. Big walks. I think it was because I didn't get out of my classroom much yesterday. Usually I have to walk to the main building, but yesterday I didn't.

So today. No walk this morning. It is pouring. So I will walk to the main building at least twice. YEA!!! Then when I come home it is suppose to be just showers so we will go on a long walk.

Poor Babies are going to have to stay home today. Oh they will be dry. There isn't one of the dogs that appreciates the rain.

Come on we live in Oregon!!!!!

Happy Day

It is funny how much we underestimate or overestimate our walking. I know that the farm is the author of many of my highest step days frequently over 20 K steps. I work nights at a hospital laboratory and always thought that there is a lot of walking both in the lab and outside, but If I just relied on the on the job walking I don't think I would even make it to 6000 steps. Sometimes I spend the day in the kitchen cooking making freezer meals for my elderly parents and after several hours of intense work am surprised to find out that I have only managed a couple of thousand steps, my legs sure feel like I did more!
Hope you are having fun with the puppy!
