Biggest Struggle.... portion control

Tuesday, October 28, 2014

I am working on conquering my biggest issue which is eating way to much. I'm struggling with it, but last night I went to store and got myself all sorts of veggies to eat while I am work. I think this will help a lot. I am excising a lot but I am not seeing the weight loss because my eating habits haven't changed. I am somewhat disappointed in myself, but I hope to use this as a lesson to learn. I wasn't to lose a good amount of weight before my trip and well it didn't happen. So now I have to learn from my mistake and keep moving forward. I hope that this is motivation enough to really start making changes.

Portion control was always a huge issue for me too, but as CCINDICANE2 mentioned it does get easier. Now that I've been eating better for so long (about 7 months) I get full very easily and really am not as hungry as I used to be. I also use small plates, I portion everything out before I eat it and like you I have some super-low-calorie standbys to help in a pinch. Good luck; you can do this!!!

Portion control is very difficult to start because your stomach is stretched out so you don't get that full feeling you are accustomed too. I think the hardest part is retraining your mind to not think you are hungry just because you are not full. Plus, I find that some day my metabolism is on fire and I get hungry every 1-2 hours and never feel satisfied. Luckily, these days are few and far in between but they suck nonetheless. I think the first 2 weeks are the hardest when it comes to reducing teh amount of food you eat. Use smaller plates to make it look like you are eating more.
