I'm back with a brand new knee!

Tuesday, October 21, 2014

Hi Spark friends, it's been awhile. But I'm back from having Total Knee Replacement surgery and eager to get more weight off so I can really enjoy this brand new knee!

I thought I'd be able to find the time while on medical leave to get back on Sparkpeople and get back in the groove....but found that my days were filled with Dr. appointments, exercise for my knee and therapy treatments. The six weeks I was off just flew by. So now I'm back to work and ready to get back to working at my healthy eating program to feel my best before the holidays gets here.

So hello fellow Sparkers I'd love to hear how you've been doing!

Welcome back! Take your time with that knee, I know that knee replacements are one of the hardest surgeries to get through (rehab and all that). Once you're back to 100% I'm sure you're really going to like that new knee joint!

Good for you. I went through this about five years ago. When I started seeing a physical therapist following the surgery, it started me on this weight loss journey. I then saw a dietician and she introduced me to SparkPeople. I subsequently lost over 60 pounds. I am doing real well and have maintained the weight and exercise every day. I just did get a Spark Activity step counter. And I have had three successive days in a row with over 7,000 steps.

Congratulations to you for all of your efforts to become more healthy and I wish you well in the healing process. It does take a while. I never did get full range of motion back. But I am pain free now. Wonderful!
