Disappointed but NOT Discouraged!

Last week I set a mini challenge for myself to lose 2 pounds in one week. I am saddened to say that I did not accomplish that goal and I’m disappointed about it. It’s another reminder that things do not always go as we plan, but that doesn’t mean that we need to give up on our goals. We should take the time to find out what didn’t work and what we didn’t do so well, make the adjustments and try again. Therefore, I’m not discouraged; in fact I’m encouraged to set yet another mini challenge for myself.

So this is it; the big minis challenge over the next 7 days; drum roll please. I am committing to two-a-day workout; yes, I said that 2 workouts per day for 30 minutes each; that’s an hour a-day.

I know this is going to be demanding as I work a full time job as a State employee, I work as an Adjunct Professor by night, I’m pursing my Doctoral Degree in Theology, I’m the youth director at church, I’m trying to become a better road cyclist (bicycle), I could go on; so as you see that leaves little or no time for anything or anyone, including myself. I should write a blog about sacrifice, but that will come later.

I will begin my venture today, Wednesday, October 15, 2014 through Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Everyone is different and it’s about finding what works for you. I’m asking for support along the way so feel free to check in with me. I’ll be back to let you know how I did.

    Weight loss is not easy for me. I normally have to cut my calories extremely low to lose. My advice is to drink more water and increase exercise. Best of luck!

    You CAN and WILL do this! I was able to lose the 2lbs this week so I am going to aim to do the same this week. I work out twice a day 3x/week and that is difficult. Make sure you're also eating within your calories but also according to the recommended percentages on the chart at the bottom. I notice when I don't get enough protein I don't see a change on the scale and feel much more tired during workouts. Good luck!

    Your blog title caught my eye... Weight loss for me w/out a thyroid gland is always difficult! Also just signed up for MS150 bike ride next spring...

    Count your total calories. If you don't lose, lower your intake a little. I'm on Day #432 on this same journey.
