Well, I committed myself back to the weight loss process just this wednesday, and it is Sunday and i've already had a "free day". Now, eventually, when I am working out again, and when I have my "non free days" really structured, a free day would be okay.... but I don't need any free days any time soon.
BUT, Dan and I had a wonderful day though. We drove down the coast to pick up some pumpkins to decorate. Then we stopped in Half Moon Bay for some lunch, then to my parents for dinner.
Here is the breakdown of my day today....
B: Maple Bacon scone and coffee misto. I live about 2 minutes from a cafe called "Bacon Bacon"... everything in the whole cafe has bacon on it. And these scones... I mean, these scones are probably the best thing I've ever had in my life. No joke.
L: Dan and I split an order of fish and chips... but I did not have any fries. So I had 2 pretty decent sized pieces of deliciously perfect fried fish and also split a shrimp cocktail. One small glass of wine.
D: My parents invited us over for dinner. My mom made moussaka, which was absolutely delicious, but so so rich. I had a small serving of moussaka, some greek salad (just the cucumber and tomato, no olives), some halloumi (which is this amazingly salty, chewy, cheese that you can put on the grill or fry it and it doesn't melt... but it is one of the world's great wonders) and a small piece of some phyllo dough custard delicious dessert.
So, now that I just confessed all of the really yummy but super high calorie things I ate today, let's focus on the positive..... 1) I shared my meals, 2) practiced portion control 3) I still tracked all of my food, even though I was bad 4) I ate 120 grams of protein and 5) It could have been waaaaaay worse lol. So, I enjoyed it, and I am moving on.
As far as the rest of the week, I was not perfect, but I definitely have made positive changes in my eating and general lifestyle. My goal is to eat 1000-1350 calories a day and AT LEAST 100 grams protein. I did go over calories every day, but I think I made good choices with my food, and I was not too far off. I also practiced conscious eating. I think I hit my water goal every day except for today.
Overall, I feel good about how my week has gone. I feel like I am making progress. I also feel better physically than I have since my surgery. I think a lot of it has to do with upping my protein intake. I am trying to take this whole thing day by day :-)
