First Time Mom

Monday, October 13, 2014

Becoming a mom for the first time is amazing yet terrifying. The changes are more than you ever imagined.
I gave birth over 9 months ago and still find it all so surreal. My child is amazing and so passionate. My biggest challenge was coping with postpartum depression due to an immediate postpartum hemorrhage, it still haunts me. That feeling of being so helpless... it changed me forever.
I'm back with spark and hoping to overcome and move forward with my health journey. I want to relight that fire and push forward. I want to be healthy in body and in mind.
Happy sparkles!

Welcome back! So glad you are here! I am sure that the emotions can get super crazy. Exercise is probably a great help, although with a little one finding the time will probably be tougher. emoticon

Being a mom for the first time can be so much more emotional than you could prepare for. I recently had my second child (5.5 months ago) and even though I'm not a first time mom things were still crazy emotionally. With exercise and eating healthy you will find a good balance again. Your child should be a great motivator to keep you no the right track because they will want to be just like you as they grow up! WE as parents shape their view on food, exercise, and body image (on top of everything else) so we have to ensure we make the best choices. Congrats on being a mommy! It truly is the hardest but most rewarding job!
