Sad day but I knew it had to happen

Wednesday, October 08, 2014

Well today my hubby tried to protect me from knowing that Nipper had to be put down. I knew it was coming she was no longer happy and couldn't walk anymore. In the past 4 days she wouldn't even eat her favorite food "chicken". Hubby took me to fitness class came in and said I have to go do something and I will be right back.. I knew then he was taking her to be put down. I know it was the right choice, just hard to let her go. She was my baby and when I went in the hospital for nearly a month she drove them crazy looking for me. When I did come home she made ever step I was trying to make and would not let me out of her sight. Incase them crazy men took me away again.. I know she is free and running and bounding around like she use to now.. Just take me a while to get past it. I am trying my best to stay away from the kitchen. I know it would be so easy to try to medicate me with food. I have a large sign on my fridge that says do no feed the pain.. Only feed the hunger.. Seems to work most time..

    I am so very sorry for your loss. Our pets become part of our family and at times we may even rely on them more than our family.

    Keep up the good work on staying out of the fridge. It's wonderful you can recognize that you would like to do some emotional eating. You can get through this!

    I am so very sorry for your loss. I truly know how hard this is and the urge to eat and stuff down those feelings can be overwhelming. Please think of Nipper over the rainbow bridge. She will be waiting for you when you get there. I will be going through this myself in the coming months. No matter how hard we prepare, it's impossible to know in advance how painful it is. {{{hugs}}}

    What a lovely dog. I am sorry you have to experience this pain. I'm afraid part of having a wonderful animal like that is generally experiencing the pain when they are gone. It is very difficult and I feel for you. I have gone through the same type of thing myself several times. Sooner or later I always found love for another animal that needed to love me and that I could love.

    My mom, 88, recently lose her dog companion of many years. She told me after that her one wish was that Daisy died before her. She was afraid she would die and no one would love Daisy as she did.

    I have always felt like you have that my departed pets are free somewhere bounding around as they only could be in youth.

    It was very kind of your husband to take care of it himself. He must have known how devastating being there in the final moments would be for you. You have a very loving husband.

    What a sweetheart. So sorry she had to be put down. So very sad. Feel better soon.

    I had to have my dog put down quite a few years ago and it is an awful feeling, I wish you and your family all the best.
