Here we go again.

So. My last blog was May 4th. Five--that's *FIVE* months ago. I'm now at my all-time heaviest. Coincident? I THINK NOT!

To explain, after a lazy summer, we're just back from two weeks in England. Wonderful trip, awesome--and I mean AWE-some sense of history, visiting all those hundred-, even thousand-year old structures.

BUT: you know how 'they' say English food is yuck? Well, I'm here, rotund like never before, to tell you that just ain't so! English food was delicious, tempting and plentiful. I'd consume more calories for breakfast than I normally consume all day here at home, and no amount of walking, stressing or stair-climbing in and out of the "Tube" kept the ensuing rotundity at bay.

So here we go again, reporting to Nutrition Tracker and Fitness Tracker; measuring serving sizes; dodging fat, salt and sugar; making sure the plate is 50% fresh fruit and veggies at *every* meal; and EXERCISING, goldarn it!

On the plus side--I gave blood today. Some sites suggest that is equivalent to burning close to 1000 calories. Fine by me : ) Another plus: the nurse who took my vitals prior to my donation asked if I exercise regularly because my resting pulse is nice and low--she wrote "athletic pulse" on my chart. Made my day!

So, all is not lost on the fitness front. And at a steady loss pace of 1.5 lb per week, I'll be back at target weight by Christmas.

    Glad you had a terrific time while over in England and by now are probably near or maybe at your renewed goal.
    I need to do something similar myself as I've become sloppy in my own tracking and its definitely showing too. emoticon

    I am so glad you are back. Your trip sounds like fun and it also sounds like you have a plan to get back to your former size. Pull those running tights back on and hit the road again. emoticon

    Sorry to hear about your setback. Gaining health is a long, almost never ending process.

    I have heard recently about a couple of people who are getting off the health chase. Folksinger Leonard Cohen has recently said that he is starting smoking again at the age of 80. He figures he's had all the health in life he needs.

    My wife read to me about another guy who at age 75 has decided it's not important to take his meds any longer. He's not into extending his life into decrepitude.

    I am finding that the weight loss and fitness quest can be very rewarding and actually kind of fun. Hope you find the same. Glenn
