Its been a really long time...

Saturday, September 27, 2014

Since I have been around. I managed to put most of the weight that I worked so long and hard to take off back on. In the span of about 2 years, I met and married someone I expected to grow old with. Within a year and a half he had passed away. I went to work and came home and found that he had a stroke/aneurism and had been on the floor for approximately 6 hours. I lost 2 houses, had to file bankruptcy (no medical insurance) And lost my job of 15 years. My life just seemed to dissolve around me. I just wasn't strong enough to cope and all of the old habits came back. It took a long time to come back. So, I'm now back on track and down 71 pounds. Its day, by day, one step and pound at a time. I hope to be able to get my running mojo back someday, but for now, I walk daily and when at work on my breaks I take the stairs in the building several times. I just dusted off my bike too, but the weather is turning so I won't be able to ride much longer. I'm blessed enough to work for company that takes wellness pretty seriously. We have a complimentary on site gym, it is pretty well equiped. There is a trainer on staff and there are classes. Its a call center, and its really easy to gain weight as you are pretty stationary. I brought my exercise ball and there are hand weights on my desk, so when I have the opportunity, and am not typing, I can lift weights. Things are looking up finally, its been very dark.

I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and all of the ensuing problems that followed. No wonder you lost your way for a while. I'm so glad that you have found a new job and that you have a good wellness program. I just saw your new picture in my friends feed and thought I'd come over and say "Hi" and see how you were doing, never dreaming that you had been through all of this. Big Hugs!!

I'm glad that you are back to your walking and the bike. Seventy pounds gone is wonderful. I know that you are glad to be seeing good results and getting back into your healthy lifestyle.

I've just came back to Spark after a time away and was just reviewing my sparks friends and see who all were still here. Lots have left. I am glad to see that you are returning.

I see that Debbie Day is one of your friends. She is starting a new team up soon. She has the information up on her Spark page and you may have already seen it.

I'll be checking on your page and sending you a few goodies along to encourage you. You are doing an awesome job of getting fit and healthy! I am so glad for you!

    Hugs, Deane

Lisa, I have truly missed you and was hoping someday to see you back here. I know in 2012 you stopped in briefly.
I am so sorry for you loss and as well all the difficulties you have had to face. But you are here now and already starting on the road back to health. I am proud that you came back and all you are already accomplishing. You have the drive, the know how and now even a place(a job and here) to help you so much on your road back. But truly we can never go back, just move through with the knowledge that we have obtained through all of our life's journey.
You know already that it is never easy, but rewards make it all worth our efforts.
So glad you are back and working on you again.
    Blessings,
    Erin
