Transitions - Life Begins at the End of Your Comfort Zone

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

The only constant in life truly is change. After today, I'll be off work until the move is done/complete. I'm excited, nervous, happy, scared, positive, and anxious...

In addition to the home 'move' - so many other things are transitioning. My oldest is experiencing some difficult times with her new living situation - to a point where it's 'scary' as a parent for me to hear about (one of the roommates was hospitalized due to a mental health breakdown and threats to the other occupants in the house to 'kill' them... and set fire... which he attempted just the other day)... The hardest part is I'm in no position at the moment to take her back in and she's going to have to live through this as part of her decision to move out.

My youngest - she's adjusting relatively well to the new school/day treatment program and I'm getting some positive feedback ... but it's still slow going (she's only going part-time and has missed once due to transportation issue and once as she said she was sick this week). I'm trying to take it one day at a time and stay positive about the good that will come from this.

On my own personal level - my health/fitness goals are just OUT the window right now - and I'm allowing this. I will pick it back up once I'm in my new place and figure out how I'm going to manage in the new space how/when/where I will work out (as I won't have my dedicated room anymore).

It means pushing out of my regular routine or comfort zone and while I'm a creature of habit working very hard to be open to the positive possibilities that lie ahead.

I am grateful for every moment (especially last night with my special visit from my guy friend - he certainly is a bright spot in my stressful days)...

So 1-2-3 - here I grow... out of my comfort zone...

Sorry to hear of your older daughters problems. That is indeed very scary. It does sound like the younger daughter is making some progress. Hope the move will help you both. Good luck with the move. Once your settled I hope you will take some time for yourself.

OH gosh . . . sorry to hear of your oldest's situation. Glad your youngest is adjusting fairly well, though. LOTS on your plate. Hugs and prayers.

I always hated getting out of my comfort zone. Who doesn't? But sometimes getting out of comfort zone is a part of life. We're only human.

Hope everything goes well with your family.
