It's time for my annual "Birthday Countdown!"

What's a birthday countdown?

Simple:

(1) Take the age you'll be at your next birthday...
(2) and count that many days backward from your birth date.
(3) Now EARNESTLY begin your own health and fitness routine leading up to your birthday!

This is my 10th year to do this; I started when I was about to turn 50. My fear was that I was going to feel bummed out about turning the big 5-oh. So I thought to myself, "What if I am in really good shape? or even just BETTER shape? Wouldn't that help me feel better about myself?"

The answer was a definite YES!

So I did the math, printed out several monthly calendar pages--so I could track what I was doing and SEE it visually on the wall next to my computer--and got busy!

Some years I've had a theme for my countdown. One year was based around all boxing-style workouts. Another year was based around all Leslie Sansone workouts. Another was based solely on how many days per week that I exercised. There was the year that was based on a particular nutrition program (Turn Up the Heat). Another was based on a fitness program: New Rules of Lifting for Women.

This year's theme isn't quite set yet. But my determination is strong, and that's what's REALLY important!

Today:
It was an RV travel day for us. (Just a 2-hour pull.) Once we parked, I walked briskly around our small park twice: 9 minutes. After dinner, I walked briskly again for 20 minutes, ending with 1 minute of using my stepper so that I could count (and track) a full 30 minute workout on Spark. Lastly, I re-started my online hourly chime tonight, and at 9 p.m. I got on my rebounder for 5 minutes. If I'm still sitting here at my computer at 10 p.m. when the chime goes off again, I -will- get back up on my rebounder for ANOTHER 5 minutes! LOL
