Small Steps

Still walking. It has been almost 2 weeks and I'm already itching to do more and go faster. I went from planning to walk once or twice a week to every other day to almost every day. It's nice and I have in part done it every day because on some days I've had company. Last week I walked at the park with coworker and her little boy. This week, the past two days I walked with a coworker after work as we both worked morning shift.

I'm walking 2-3 miles for now and hope to start adding jog intervals within the next month. It's fun but I also have to remember that this is just the start. I'm working my way up to more things: running, weight lifting, etc.

As much as I'd like to progress quick, I'll be happy if I stick to things and don't give up. That is even more of a testament and challenge than anything else at this stage. So, encouragement is nice but I'm hoping to really cheer when I've worked hard for months.

Music is helping. I listen to music every time I walk alone. With the right beat, it's hard not to get moving.
