At long last, I was approved for PT.
I went Monday and the PT thinks I've pulled and inflamed some of the small muscles that connect my lower vertebrae.
So the treatment is 15 minutes of heat, 15 minutes of ultrasound treatment, and 15 minutes of massage. Plus exercises to do at home.
And the advice about activity is to push as much as I can without "stabbing pain."
Yay! I'm back to classes at the fitness center (but modifying like crazy) and this morning TC and I did our first hike since we left Utah in July. We walked the bench trail on Mt. Nebo and walked up 450 stone steps and down about 200. Total: 4.5 miles. We both agreed it was a bit hard but a great start!
This Friday we'll try to walk 8-10 miles on our flat, paved city trail to work on endurance and on the weekend hit Mt. Nebo again for a longer hike doing more up-and-down that will train us for the mountain hikes in Nepal.
Progress! I'm really encouraged that I will be 100% by the time we leave! Yay!
