Happy Saturday, Sparkfriends!!
After more than a week I finally, finally FINALLY have an appointment with a physical therapist scheduled for Monday afternoon.
Physically I am feeling much better. Yesterday I did 3.5 miles on the treadmill but only 15 minutes of a Pilates class -- too much strain on that hip.
I also have to be very careful about "pivoting", twisting and heavy lifting. I am not 100% by any means.
This morning TC and I did 7 slow miles on our city trail. YES, I was feeling it by the end but YES, I could have done more if I had to! I am highly encouraged. I've slowly been increasing my activity so I don't overdo and set myself back.
I am happy to have a PT appt. on Monday to help me determine when I can move forward with more rigorous training. We SHOULD be walking up & down Mt. Nebo (1800 feet and 2.5 miles one way with all the switchbacks) on a regular basis to prepare for the 5-7 hours we'll be hiking daily in Nepal. I'm hoping the PT can help rehabilitate that area so I won't need to depend on Celebrex and muscle relaxers. But I'm hopeful! Four weeks to go.
IN OTHER NEWS, we have another work shift at the county fair tonight, and I will follow the same strategy as Thursday. I will take a boca burger and my homemade chicken and lentil soup.
I've joined the fall Biggest Loser Challenge, and it really WILL be a challenge since our trip is in the middle of it! My goal will be to maintain my weight, whatever it is when we leave, and what a concept, right? Usually vacations are a free-for-all
in my mind, which is ridiculous considering how much we travel. I need to get a grip on that line of thinking or I'll NEVER hit my goal weight!
Nothing else new here, so I'll sign off. I'll let you know tomorrow whether I followed my Fair food plan.
