. . . is three months old today. I had his nails trimmed and set an appointment for his first grooming. I never thought I would have a dog groomed. But, hey. I think he will look much better. His curls are getting out of control!!

That actually will have a positive impact on his health. All the Animal Planet shows tell me that mats end up causing a lot of pain. Happy 3 months to Benson!

As a professional dog groomer,I can tell you, you are doing a wonderful thing for your puppy. You should ask your groomer for some tips on how to brush, how to keep the puppies teeth clean etc. Your groomer is your first defense in your dogs day to day health. We are trained to find problems, lumps and bumps, ear infections are just a small fraction. Good for you doing all the right things!!!

    Congratulations on your new puppy!

I am afraid a grooming appointment is just the tip of the iceberg. I continue to be appalled at the things I do for my pet (she is a cat). I puree her food in the food processor (I had to buy myself a new food processor since that one is hers). I shop for orthopaedic cat beds. Ridiculous, right? I had no idea I would become "one of those people." But I did. She is so worth it.

You made me look at my own nails...I could use a good filing.
