After a long while of avoiding the scale and intentionally NOT obsessing about it....I braved a peek a few days ago. I have been intentionally eating less, only when hungry and since I am expending less energy since I can't exercise much, I have adjusted my eating to compensate.
So what did that scale say?
I had LOST 2 pounds from the last time I weighed! Whoo hoo! Okay I have to admit, 164.4 pounds is not my desired weight...but you know, gone are the days that the scale dictates my mood or self worth.
I know that I am more aware of what my body needs and wants now. I am less obsessed with food and cooking and I think for me, that is a good thing.
On the professional front, I am going to a part time job interview on Thursday and this is the 2nd interview. I am hopeful that I will get it, it is a position that is PERFECT for me and my skills and availability. It still allows me to be home for the kids in the afternoons.
I have written a couple of blogs for the InBetween Magazine. (one article due out soon) and one of the books I ghost wrote is not in print! Whoo hoo!
The best thing is that if I get this part time job, then we will be able to afford to get a second car and with the kids involved in piano lessons and my son in a recreation program at the community centre as well as teacher meetings and school events, I really need to have a car. It has been almost 2 or 3 years without a second car and it has been a challenge!
Let me also tell you about my nails! For the longest time my nails would break and chip and I could never grow them! WELL...after I quit my cleaning job, through the summer, all of a sudden my nails are growing like crazy. They are strong and healthy and to the point where I actually had to cut and file them down so that I could type properly again! WOW!
I am happy about that! I have not changed my diet, although maybe the increase in latte's might be part of it!????
I am optimistic for the future and once I settle in to the job and we sign up for benfits then I will be able to go for physio for my hip and once that is straightened out, literally, then I want to get a gym membership at the community centre and start over again to get my fitness up.
The occasional bike ride this summer was good, but then my hip would hurt later on in the day! I forgot to log most of them!
On Sunday night DH and I went on date night and I had the Pad Thai, I took the egg off the top and gave it to DH. It did not have tofu in it. It was a little spicier than I expected!
I know this is next picture has been a long time coming:
These are the noodles made with the Vegetti! Delicious! So far I sautee them and have added bolognaise sauce. I also added pesto sauce one time! Delicious!
I think once the weather gets a little cooler you will see a lot more zucchini noodle ideas.
I hope all of you are doing well and I apologize for being so scarce on here... the kids are back to school now, so although that helps in one way, it doesn't in another. The schedule is now rather hectic!
Let me know how you are!
