I am leaving for a week long vacation in Florida this weekend. Every year for about the past 10 years, my daughter and I have taken a beach vacation together, just the 2 of us. We both really love the ocean, and we like a laid-back, relaxing vacation. When I was younger I always planned a full agenda on vacations, but as I have gotten older I am more inclined to take things easy and just relax.

My daughter now lives about 9 hours away from me, so I only see her a few times a year. I'm really looking forward to spending time together. We are traveling to a beach we have never visited before, so I hope we like it, and I'm hoping for good weather.

I plan to try to get in my 10,000 steps a day walking on the beach. I am not planning on logging my food or restricting what I eat. I want to enjoy myself and feel like I'm truly taking a break from my everyday life, but hope to not gain more than 5 lbs back. Hopefully I won't find it too hard to get back on track when we return.

My daughter is arriving here tomorrow and spending a couple of days w/ the whole family before we head to the beach, so for all intents and purposes my vacation starts tomorrow. I'm excited to see her, and to get away from it all for a while. I am really looking forward to it.
