Positive Thinking.

Monday, September 01, 2014

Today was one of those hard days.
A day when I looked in the mirror and hated what I was seeing.
A day when I sat down and could only think about the way my belly was bulging out and how large my thighs looked.
A day when I felt like giving up, because I was never going to get any smaller.

And that's when it happened. I stepped on the scale and saw I was down 2 pounds.
Just a small reminder that no matter how great you are doing, unless you keep a positive mind, it will NOT change your life.
You cannot fall in love with the changes your body is making unless you learn to love the body that you are in.

Blessed for a good scale day to remind me that this journey is one I still desire to be on.

Some mornings you wake up and you walk to the mirror like it's a walk from a cell to the electric chair. When you look yourself in the face and have to deal with what's underneath. I get that. It's not easy.

So have those days, but remind yourself often that there is a very big difference between you and someone who has already lost -- you're doing something about it. You're waking up and walking to the mirror. You're trying to eat better. You're working out. You're getting on the scale and looking down and not allowing the number to control you.

Learning to love yourself is hard, but it's meaningful, and important, and you're on that journey and doing well. I'm glad you're able to put some context to your emotion, and are continuing your journey. And SP will be here to help you along the way.

(and congrats for the 2 lb loss-- good on you!)
