2 long meetings
Monday, August 25, 2014
After a full day in the office, 45 minutes to do farm chores
and just enough time to walk uptown, we started the first
of our two meetings of the ambulance crew.
The first meeting was an introduction to the new "Lucas"
device. It is an automatic chest compression machine
that is used to help heart attack victims who are not
responsive and their heart has stopped beating. Quite
an impressive machine. We received it through a grant
from the Leona Helmsly Foundation. I am not sure what
the sticker price would be if we needed to buy it by
ourselves but I am sure it isn't cheap. I just looked it
up mid-blog. $9,000.00 Oh, my!
Next was the annual hardship exemption meeting where
we justify why we need special drivers when we do not
have enough staff in town. That was a full hour and a
half. By the time we were done, I was so ready to go
home and have something to eat. Just not enough time
to eat much before the meeting except wheat bread
with peanut butter. That worked.
Now I am home to catch up on a few things before
bedtime. The world keeps on spinning.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great Tuesday.
