Name five non-scale victories you have accomplished

So folks...it's not all about losing weight. Can you name five things that you have accomplished as a result of changing your eating habits.

My five are:
1.) I can clasp my seat belt again without an extension
2.) I have dropped almost three full sizes in clothes
3.) I had to even buy new shoes because the others were too big
4.) My endurance is greater and I'm less out of breath
5.) I find myself wanting to exercise now instead of avoiding it (did I say that? emoticon )

Can you name another five as well?
6.) I have more energy
7.) My rings fit loser
8.) I smile more often
9.) Others are beginning to notice how much slimmer I'm looking
10.) I'm down thirty some inches overall

Why not another five too?
11.) I can tighten a belt better
12.) I can do more reps on any of my exercise than I could before.
13.) I'm on no medications at all
14.) My skin and nails are looking better
15.) I can see the difference in my before and after pictures

So how about it can you name at least five (you can name more if you want to) non-scale victories.. Let's have fun with this because it isn't always about those lbs being lost.

    Today I am feeling a bit low- so sometimes it feels like it's hard to come up with anything good......... i'll try.

    1. I am eating more Freggies.
    2. I said "NO" to the ice cream shop on the bike trail.
    3. I am on the way to better digestive health.
    4. I am determined to lower my blood sugar numbers.
    5. Today is day #529 of my goal of reaching 1000 days of walking.

    My 5 NSV...
    I can fit into a size small to medium top.
    I like exercising every day.
    My darling husband said, he will have to start calling me Slim Jim.
    I notice a big difference in the mirror, especially the lost inches, even when the scale is stuck.
    I am beginning to enjoy eating a lot more veggies. emoticon

    1. No more heartburn when I am sleeping
    2. More empty space in the shower
    3. Better digestive health
    4. Less compounding pressure on arthritic knees

    this was hard one to do since the scales has been a big deal this month since the scales is laughing at me rolling back and fourth losing the same few pounds over and over here are my five
    1 enjoying walking twice a day
    2. Getting my water in each
    3 planning meals ahead for the week
    4 no snacking mindlessly this week
    5. going to the gym three times a week adding more days is my plan for Sept

    My non-scale victories are:

    1. I feel better after eating because of what I'm eating. I haven't had that calorie high then crash.
    2. I'm not afraid of the mirror. My bathroom has a lot of mirrors and I used to hate to see some angles. I breeze past the mirrors now and if anything, might stop and notice things are getting better.
    3. I can do some things better: run faster, stretch deeper, lift bigger weights for more reps.
    4. Everything I wear is getting loose. If this keeps up I am going to have to buy some new clothes soon!
    5. I am more confident because I feel more in control of my choices and more able to change my body to what I want it to be.

    1) I've lost enough fat that I can almost fit into my wedding dress (probably another 10 pounds and I'll be there!)
    2) I can walk farther without feeling like I'm going to die.
    3) I actually ENJOY walking and find it's a perfect "me time".
    4) I'm being a great role model to my kids by choosing healthier foods and exercising.
    5) My kids are getting more interested in hiking with me! :D

    Thank you for your blog. Came in right on time. Was getting pissed at the scale.

    1. Having courage to join the Rec. Center and signing the contract for one year (it was hard - on social security and it could have been by visit instead of by year).
    2. Bathing suit getting almost embarrassingly too big.
    3. Swimming longer distances for longer time span - loving it.
    4. Swimming at all!!
    5. Not crazy hungry - appropriate hungry
    6. Being really really choosy about what munchie I'll eat if I'll eat it and feeling good at the end of the decision process. Mindful munching.
    7. Sleeping better - feeling rested - no naps
    8. Eating better - remembering how to cook and actually cooking! I was engrossed in convenience foods.
    9. Cooking is fun again.
    10. Finding myself looking for things to do instead of what restaurant to go to.

    Actually, I really need to stop typing. I am so glad you posted because I wasn't looking at this stuff. It's important stuff.

    my 5 NSV:
    1. i am less critical of myself
    2. i am drinking plain water more often
    3. i am more willing to walk more often
    4. my mother hasn't made any fat comments recently
    5. i am more active

    1. Able to go up and down the stairs without going one step at a time with only one leg.
    2. Arms stronger and my hand grip is stronger even with arthritis.
    3. Walking better and most of the time with less pain in my hips and knee.
    4. Hooking my bra on the tightest hooks and now forced to buy a couple new ones just to get me through the next half of my weight-loss journey (LOL).
    5. Seeing less and less of a double chin!

    1. Being directed to the 35 year Class Reunion upstairs when I was supposed to go to the 50 year Class Reunion downstairs........made my night!!!

    2. Had to have my wedding ring resized.

    3. The capris that were too small last summer now fall off.

    4. A collegue I used to teach with didn't recognize me.

    5. Much more energy.

    Love it! Congrats!

    1. I can take the steps to our office without getting winded!
    2. I can walk five consecutive miles!
    3. I fit into my skinny jeans and no longer have to buy plus sizes!
    4. I can tie my shoes without having to put my foot up! (it still pinches a little when I bend over, but not like it used too!)
    5. My double chin is getting smaller!

    Heck with that number on the scale..... this feels great!

    I love your list! It would be great to get to where I wouldn't need medication, I take so many now!
    My list of five would be:
    1.) I can breathe better now!
    2.) I can keep up a better walking pace!
    3.) I'm feeling better about myself!
    4.) I'm able to avoid the wrong foods!
    5.) I have more energy at the end of the day!

    1. Feeling proud of myself when I see people whom I haven't seen in a while. (I used to try to avoid running into them at all costs--I was so ashamed of what I'd done to myself.)

    2. Being able to walk wherever I want--not being able to walk long distances really limits what you can do in your life. I no longer have those limits.

    3. Shopping for clothes everywhere (not just in the large size catalogs)!

    4. Not being afraid to go to the doctor, for fear of the lectures about my weight.

    5. Being able to keep up with my grandkids. Taking care of them is such a joy in my life!
