I am pretty sure a lot of my shin pain has to do with my worn out shoes...ok so shoe replacement is a must. I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking for so I'm going to have to search and possibly go talk to someone at a running store (it's recommended even for walking briskly over long periods of time...and I'm a 3-5 mile a day person who's trying to increase her walking speed to at least a 15 minute mile..doable since I'm at a 18 minute mile already increased from a 19 minute mile just a few weeks ago).

Running may still be a no go for me after shoe least for now..but fast walking has been wonderful and hey no shin pain. I did a little over three miles today with just the regular muscle soreness one gets when one pushes oneself over a distance. I know that may change though if I don't replace my poor shoes (the soles are actually peeling off...)

The other thing is that I'm glad I have you guys because I think my husband is getting incredibly bored with me talking about walking/jogging/running...what can I say I started doing it and got pretty enthusiastic about it!

The other other thing is that since starting working out more my weight has plateaued....vs going down mind you...I haven't changed how I'm eating at all (around the high end of my SP range) so I'm sure it has something to do with retaining water and/or building muscle, which seems to come fairly easily to me. I definitely have not gained inches anywhere and if I'm not measuring wrong I might be down a bit. Don't worry, I don't intend to stop working out. I'm loving it! I'm sleeping better and everything.

Also, I'm very frustrated because I heard a great song on the radio during my walk today and have no clue what it was, not even any words, just that I enjoyed it! I guess it's good that I use the same app a lot with the same stations a lot (my fit radio, it's pretty awesome and free for iphone, it does have ads but it's not terrible).

Your poor shoes!! Treat yourself to a new pair!!

That's funny that you mention that your hubby is bored with the running conversation. I think mine is feeling the same way as yours. Although he challenged me that he could run farther than me. I accepted the challenge and I beat him!! A month ago I didn't think that I could do that and he doesn't run.

I understand the frustration about the weight plateau. It's so frustrating. On the days that I run, I too end up on the higher end of my calories too. I'm still working on that balance.

I hope you find out what song you were listening to. That sucks when you don't know what you are listening to and it's a good song.

Keep up the great work!! emoticon
