Whole30 day 15

Friday, August 15, 2014

I have not lost interest in food yet, I wish that would happen soon.
It would be so much easier to be able to just look at food and act all nonchalant.

I have been thinking about BOBCATGIRL76's blog regarding being "that friend"

Why is it that we impose on ourselves these stigmas. Could it be that, although our friends and family want to be supportive, its hard to accept change. We know that we are making changes for our own good and so do they but these changes are sometimes viewed as an imposition. As these changes are by definition not the norm --as we go against the grain, it can cause friction. The result is uncomfortable chaffing in relations or one would hope a new spark!

People who have known us for a long time may have beliefs about us that simply aren't true any longer. So what can we do about it? Do on to others...treat every occasion like its the first one and may be the last. Because we are all transforming and shape shifting everyday. Regardless of whether we are wearing our change like a racers bib or we are more subtle we all deserve to be seen and appreciated for who we are today.
Keep Sparking!

LOL! I must be too old to worry about being "that friend".

To my niece: "Did you know that wheat is probably the root cause of your IBS?"

To my DH: "Hmmm. Your tri's are getting higher. What would you think about getting a treadmill?"

To my coworkers: "No, thanks, I don't eat much cake anymore. I'll just have a spoonful if you don't mind." And frankly, I don't care if they DO mind. I've already been called a "cake snob" by one of my esteemed colleagues because I said I've never liked "store-bought" cakes. Meh. My family actually can bake. That greasy gritty crap looks pretty but tastes like junk. And now that I rarely eat grain even the homemade stuff tastes "meh".

If they can't take me just being me then what the hell am I wasting time talking to them for?
