Paleo Challenge completed - success!

I posted a blog at the end of June regarding a Paleo challenge that i enrolled in at my CF box. I'm proud to say I completed challenge and feel fantastic.

The challenge: 6 weeks (in the middle of summer!) with eating real food. No dairy, no grains, no legumes, no added sugar other than that found naturally in foods (including sugar substitutes).

HOW DID I DO: AWESOME! I thought it would be hard. It wasn't. We have an points based honor system. Only once in the 6 weeks week did I lose a point - I consciously chose to eat sorbet from a local organic ice cream store (-1 point for sugar.....but I avoided ice cream which would have knocked me down another point for dairy). I rocked it!

HOW DO I FEEL: AWESOME. I've noted lack of cravings for sweet things, no late night binging, level mood, sleeping better, feeling better.

THE RESULTS: Not sure if these pictures convey my progress but I feel hugely different. I lost 12 pounds in 6 weeks without counting calories or dieting. I just ate real food. During that time I think I also built upper body muscle as my lifts are improving. And lastly my endurance is improving - cut 2 minutes off the 1/2 Filthy Fifty workout (from 20 min 22 sec and dying down to 18 min 22 sec and not feeling too bad).

WHERE I AM NOW: The challenge ended 1 week ago. I'm still eating Paleo and have only had 1 cheat so far. I'm working out hard at the box and really loving it. Gaining strength, endurance and confidence. Gonna keep on keeping on.
