SparkPeople Motivator--Me???

Sunday, August 10, 2014

I am so honored this morning to see that I was named SparkPeople Motivator of the day! I know my story well and every so often I see pictures of myself from my past and then I remember how far I've come. But some days, I feel less than motivating. Some days, I fail to watch what I eat, I fail to exercise like I should, I fail to love myself...And then this! It is just a reminder that I am still going strong despite those failure days. Most days, I do eat healthy and I do get at least some exercise (maybe not as much as I'd like but it's still some)! And most importantly, my diabetes is still GONE! I learned so many healthy habits with SparkPeople that I continue to use and are now such a daily part of my life that I don't even think about them anymore. I drink 8 cups of water every day. I eat fiber and watch my carb intake. I watch my portion sizes. When eating at a restaurant, I only eat 1/2 of my meal and box up the rest for lunch the next day. My habits have also rubbed off on my husband. He's never had a weight issue but now he's eating healthy and exercising regularly. A healthy lifestyle is a wonderful life :)

You are my inspiration. I have been T2 diabetic for the past 6 years and you are proof that it can be reversed, thank you. emoticon emoticon

Congratulations! I can relate to what you've talked about and feel that I do tend to focus on what I didn't do well, rather than what I have done well. In general, I think we are all doing a lot more good than we give ourselves credit for. It's time to recognize in ourselves what others see in us! Great job!
