Wow, what a week!

Saturday, August 09, 2014

Monday was Erik's second day with Sara and according to him, she works him like a dog! emoticon Sarah is good for Erik as he accepts her corrections and his trying to do his best-show off for her. I think the walking up the driveway Saturday and Sunday had something to do with proving to all what he's able to do when he puts his mind to it.
Monday, while Erik was gone, I went and did errands and got my emissions checked on the car-my birthday is around the corner, funny 66 doesn't sound old anymore. I got my walk in before he got up. Worked on taking stuff down for the painters and finishing up my prayer shawls-one from the July stash buster.
Tuesday, Got my walk in, had my granddaughters and went to the pool with them, then we came home and had lunch with uncle Erik who was back with Sarah while the girls were getting dressed. We had chinese take-out when Aaron came to get Natalie and Abigail-my Rupunzel and Snow White. After they left, more removal for painters.
Wednesday: went for a walk before Erik got up, after he and Sarah left I went and got the sticker for the license plates, then bought yarn for a new prayer shawl for my SIL. I came home and got the grocery shopping sone, made supper, and took more stuff down and put it in my closet (ugh) and my garage...I guess I'll have cleaning next week and rearranging, rehanging etc.
Thursday: Window installers finally finished my installation-not their fault Home Depot couldn't get it straight-I needed two more windows -not one. The second landscaper came and I'm waiting for his estimate to finish the back yard by the patio and Erik's room and create a riverbed walk way with pavers strategically placed for Erik's stride. The first estimate put me in sticker shock. I called the alarm company to get them to come out and reconnect my alarm. No walk during the day, walked a little whilest talking on the phone.
Oh and I started my red, white and blue prayer shawl for my SIL.
Friday: Painters showed after 10 AM as planned, worked in the morning to clear off more surfaces so furniture could be moved w/o breakage. While they patched and caulked I emptied a bookcase-didn't think about that ahead of time...oops! Got mowing in when the grass dried from the rain that impeded my morning walk. Did walk while talking to one of my SILs on the phone.
Sarah did not come today, she has another job and has asked them to alter her schedule to allow her to work w/ Erik the four days. She can work afternoons and evenings for the hotel. She called me up and told me that they had messed her schedule up so she asked to talk to the manager in the office, and told her that she MUST have Mon. Tues. Weds & Fri mornings free. Then she asked her,"how would you like it if you needed someone to transport your daughter and they couldn't because their other boss was preventing that ability. She got Tuesday of next week off-but we may or may not see her Friday depending on her reaction to the anesthesia for Thursday morning's surgery-we'll see.
Oh and my eldest son, Steven and wife came and got Erik and took him home for the weekend-so if the weather would improve I'll go to the Parish Picnic and have a great time w/o worrying about Erik at all! Woohoo!

Busy, busy, busy. Life sure keeps you hopping Ginie! I am so glad Sarah is working out and I hope her schedule can be worked out too. I'm also glad you get to enjoy the picnic without worries so I hope the weather cooperated.

I'm so sorry I missed another call from you. I think we were just outside and then didn't get the message till too late. Maybe we can connect Sunday or Monday. Monday morning is my pre-op but I'm free in the evening since they canceled Sunset Yoga due to lack of participants. I always wonder -- was I the only to sign up? Did you find a yoga class to do?

You certainly have a memory for details! I can't remember on Friday what I did on Tuesday! Just as long as things get done is all that matters.
