Kari and Yiking!

Thursday, August 07, 2014

I talked to Kari tonight and she is on her way back to healthy. Her packing was removed and is healing well. She has to lay low for the weekend, but then she should be good to go! YEAH!!! Back to training again on Monday!

In other news, I tried Yiking tonight. Its Yoga and hiking combined. We did yoga, then hiked a ways, did more yoga, hiked up a BIG Steep hill, Did more yoga, hiked back down the big steep hill, Did some more yoga, and then hiked back to our cars! Except for the BIG STEEP Hill, The hiking wasn't so bad, but the yoga - not as much my thing. :) Too much belly to bed all those ways. Kari was going to try it with me but I went with my water aerobics buddy, Jim, instead. They are doing it again in two weeks so I will go again if Kari wants to give it a try. It was interesting i say the least.

Half a day of work tomorrow and the Drive in movie tomorrow night. VERY excited for the weekend emoticon Water jogging and a run between now and the movie! Have a great weekend everyone.

Yoga and hiking....I like yoga, not sure I'd want to combine it with hiking, although I can see how some yoga stretches could help ease tight muscles. But the good thing with yoga, it doesn't matter if you can bend as much as everyone, you adapt. You listen to your body and only go as far as your body will let you. So don't give up on yoga.

Yiking? Okay. Well I guess any combination of two or more things needs some sort of nomenclature or acronym to aid in communication. The only yoga I ever tried was to tie my neck in a knot so I couldn't swallow food. ( Insert humor here, please.) Sounds like your having fun. Oh, by the way. Don't worry about the tummy and all those moves. It all begins somewhere and as you lose the tummy the better you get. emoticon
