Trying new recipes.

Thursday, August 07, 2014

I've decided to try some new recipes I've found on the internet. I like simple meals with ingredients that are readily available; I'll leave the complex stuff to the chefs! lol. Today I made honey glazed carrots for a side dish. I paired it with some chicken I marinated and grilled.... omgosh, so good!

For the carrots I used:

1 cup baby carrots
1 tbsp olive oil
Pinch of salt
Pepper to taste
1 tbsp organic wildflower honey
Mrs Dash table blend

First I boiled the baby carrots for about ten minutes until they were getting tender. Drained them.
I warmed up the olive oil in a separate pan and then added the carrots.
Added the pinch of salt.
I cooked them until they started to turn a little color and then added the honey.
Continued to cook and move them around the pan until they really started to change color.
Took them off the heat, put them on my plate, added some pepper and a light sprinkle of Mrs Dash.

Simple, easy, yummy! And with the chicken the meal is only 365 calories.

I grilled the chicken on my George Foreman grill and used Lawry's marinade. It was only ten calories per tbsp. Not bad at all!

Here is a pic I snapped before I feasted. lol

Anyways, figured to share! If you try it I hope you like it too. Thanks for reading. =)

I love the various Lawrys marinades on grilled chicken. YUM! And the baby carrots, well they look and sound delish! Simple stuff sometimes tastes so much better and is so much healthier. I may have to try your carrot recipe real soon!
    Keep up the emoticon work!
