Whole30-ing Day 1 (part 2) (Monday)

Survived the rest of the day.
Although I had a thought to do the “night time open the refrig and eat anything” around 10pm, I did not and just drank my green tea. I love my cup of tea at night, hot or cold weather.
I usually drink my coffee black but a couple times during the day I do make what DH and I call “dessert coffee” which is putting cream and sugar in it. This name came about early in our relationship. Anytime we went out to eat, when we ordered dessert (always one to share), I would put cream and sugar in my coffee. This was the only time I would do that so it came known as “dessert coffee”. DH always puts raw sugar and creamer in his so it only applied to mine. At home we have fat free half and half and I will use Splenda for the sugar. I have been in the habit of doing this usually in the afternoon now after having my couple of cups of black coffee at breakfast. So I knew and know this will be hard for me not to have my “dessert coffee” fix in the afternoon.
Word on the street is that full fat canned coconut milk is a good substitute for cream. I thought what the heck and tried it. Okay….yucko.
Two sips (one to try and one to give it a second chance cause I am into second chances) and it went down the drain. I love coconut but not into this. The same with coconut oil and using it to sauté things. Can’t do that either. Give me my olive oil. So sadly my coffee consumption will be down for the next month. Oh well. At least I tried. And cutting down on the coffee probably is a good thing right?
So recap of what I ate yesterday:
Kahlua pig, about 2 oz (recipe from Nom Nom Paleo)
2 small tomatoes
4 oz grilled hamburger
Leftover summer squash and diced tomato casserole (removed the cheese that was on top)
Mexican – Huge green pepper filled with shredded chicken, diced tomatoes, onions, peppers, black olives all mixed with homemade taco seasoning
Smashed avocado with lime juice
½ nectarine (it was disgustingly dry and no taste so ended up throwing it out)
And that was my Day 1. Off to Day 2
