It's been a while....

It has been a while.. ahum.. over a month... since I last posted a blog. I guess I got lazy
Or.. maybe there just hasn't been much going on this last month. Not quite true - our town is different in the summer months. Most of the gringos have gone north for the summer and there are more mexican tourists in town, especially the last 2 weeks. It is fun to watch the families with small children on the beaches.
The down side of the hotter months is the lack of decent quality vegetables. Everything is pretty limp and tired looking and frankly some of the stuff in the markets looks worse than what I have thrown out during the winter months. Broccoli in particular is hard to find in good shape, and you know how much I like the stuff!
One exciting thing for this last month is that DH and I have started spanish lessons. We did a course about 4-1/2 years ago but not much of that was very useful. This time we decided to take a different approach. We have one on one (or rather one on two) lessons - 4 sessions of 1-1/2 hours a week Monday- Thursday. This week is the 4th week and tomorrow we will have completed 24 hours of lessons. We are learning a lot and I find it easier to speak to people in the markets, I can actually use sentences with verbs rather than just string a few words together and hope that with hand gestures they get the idea LOL
Last week our teacher invited us to visit a class she teaches in a small village up the road. She teaches english to teenagers during their summer vacation. Needless to say, these kids are dedicated and want to be there. What a lovely bunch of kids! We joined in the class and I think it was eye opening for them to hear us struggle with their language as much as they were with ours. We had a lovely hour with them and felt very honored to meet them.
My weight has been fairly ok this month, fluctuating between 135 and 137, not bad really considering I relaxed a little and although I still eat close to plan, there are days when it doesn't quite work out that way. I have been keeping up with the yoga sessions - I post the session on my feed after I have done one - just to keep me accountable :)
I have had fun using the veggetti but haven't really gotten creative with recipes yet. DH likes the bolognese sauce and I mostly stick to that. Time to get creative!!
