Incoming!!! The real world is here!

So, I finally decided to make a doctor appointment. It's been about three years. I have always struggled with high cholesterol (genetics and lifestyle). The last time that I was checked, my triglycerides were also a little high. I thought that after three or so months of much healthier eating (and losing 20 pounds in that time) that I would be doing ok.

My cholesterol is sitting close to 270 and my triglycerides have nearly doubled. Houston, we have a problem. So, I have been on cholesterol medication previously and I am going to be starting it again. I was once again reminded through several pokes and prods that I need to quit smoking. Hey, there's a pill to help with that. On the plus side, I also got a pill to take for migraines. I haven't had a pill for migraines in years, and the doc accused me of killing my liver through self-medication. Liver, shmiver I said. However, they assured me that my body would appreciate it in the long run.

So, it's back to the old classics, the old routines, the old me. I have to cut back a little on fat in my diet, but I definitely have to exercise and not smoke. Maybe like I did when I was 19? You know, when I was healthy and energetic? When I was a size 6? I won't entertain the size 6 idea for too long, but I do hope to use this as a wake up call to continue to get my act together!!!
