My laundry room transformation!

Friday, July 25, 2014

Months ago, my laundry room started on Operation Facelift.
Here are the before pics

The choosing of the paint took me weeks....then my youngest daughter went and bought a gallon of paint and that was that!
Here are the after pics

Notice the new rug! It is my favorite part of this is the little things after all:)

We lost the 1960 curtains and went with wood blinds.
What would a laundry room be without a sign? I did not want to spend money, so what did I have on hand? Ah, I remembered I had my Mother's old washboard. It has seen better a paintjob...I discovered I hate painting, LOL!!!
Look behind Junebug to see the board painted black and then We distressed it, added a few foam letters and viola!
I am thrilled the room is done. I just love how clean and happy it feels!!!

I am LOVING that rug.....& of course, Junebug!!!! LOL!!!! Beautiful flower painting, too!!!! I have my Grandmother's washboard too.....original!!!! Have not had the heart to paint it!!!! When we moved in, I thought very carefully about what I wanted in the room I hated the most!!!! LOL!!!! I painted it yellow, so is my kitchen, so bright & cherry!!!! I am STILL looking for the right sunflower curtains, 11yrs later!!!! LOL!!!! I have verticals, which I hate!!!! I also have my GM's old porcelain, enamel topped cabinet that I wanted to fold clothes on, but it has become a catchall because my boys eat anything on the floor, so everything has to be up!! LOL!!!! Your Laundry room & sign turned out beautiful!!!!
    Hugzz!!!! emoticon

What a gr8t transformation! The wall color is awesome and I really like the floor. The rug adds a special touch. What a wonderful way to re-purpose your grandmother's wash board.

Hope you have many wonderful years enjoying your new laundry room.

ooh, very VERY pretty, and I *L*O*V*E* that rug too!! What a clean and refreshing this did for your 'tired' looking laundry room. We spend sooo MUCH time in places like this - managing the daily work loads (pun intended, LOL!!) that a little cheer can always make the chores BRIGHTER!! Lovely, m'friend!!

P.S. Gorgeous painting!! SWEET fur baby too!!
