First Goal

I just wanted to do a quick update to explain my first goal. My current objective is to lose 50lbs by January 1, 2015. This will put me in a good place for the new year. I can't focus on the 200lbs that I need to lose, I just have to focus on a bit at a time. I also want to be more active...naturally. Right now it's hard. I workout some and my energy is drained for the rest of the day. I don't want to be tired anymore. My goal is also to strengthen my back some. The pain in my back hurts and I'm sick of it. I'm hoping that in conjunction with the weight loss and the exercising that this pain will start to subside. What's my reward....hmmm....I haven't thought of that one yet.

    Sparkpeople is very big on small goals to start with, and it works, the 10 minute of fitness has helped many people get started on moving more and working toward bigger goals. I find I have changed a lot of my habits back to when I was into a more healthy life style and I feel so much better, we will all root for you!

    Welcome to SparkPeople. We are all here for the same reason, no matter what our personal story is. We are here to help each other to get to that healthy point we want to be in our lives. It is not going to be easy, but it is attainable. I have found that changing things up is the way to start weight loss. Make small goals and they will lead to big successes. I started at 387 and one year later I am at 285 with still another 100 to lose. But this year has taught me that it is possible! You can do it too! Welcome and get active on this site. emoticon

    Thanks for the comments everyone. I really do need to find a way to reward myself once I meet my goal. Who knows....after 50lbs maybe it'll be some new clothes!

    Yep, that's me, too! I am logging my weight-loss goals in 25 pound increments. Knowing I have 121 pounds to lose is overwhelming. Knowing I have 25 pounds to lose is more than manageable and attainable! emoticon

    I found to look at 5lbs @ a time - small/realistic/obtainable. Best of luck

    It is good to break your goals down to doable tasks. It makes life better to get the smaller tasks done, one at a time. My goal is 10 lbs to begin with. and then go from there to the next 10. I was thinking of a pedicure after 10lbs.
