taking care of her kids while she sleeps off last night

Sunday, July 20, 2014

AHHH!! Yet again I have to take care of her two girls while she sleeps off all the alcohol she drank last night. She dose not pay me to do this. She has her son in her room so he plays by himself, i just have to check and make sure he is not getting into things.

If i were to go out and stay out late like she does, I would still have to get up and take care of my kids and hers, so she could sleep. She needs to grow up. I already take care of them so she can work and run to the store and what not, 7 days a week. Just me and 9 kids. I get a little bit of a break the last few weeks here, 2 of my girls are visiting their great grandparents.

If at all possible you should evict this woman from your life. She is taking advantage of you, and she will not get the help she needs if friends continue to enable her bad behavior.

Maybe you should make a video of her sleeping and her children being left unattended and show it to her. In the video, ask her children what it's like when their mom is sleeping off her drinking. Let her think about what her children are going through for all those hours. If she still doesn't get it, ask her what she thinks would happen if the authorities saw that video.
Let her experience the fear and consequences of her choices. She'll probably tell you she can't help it. Tell her where she can go and get help and that you expect her to go in the next 2 days. If she doesn't go, you can continue to let her abuse you and her children and your children or you can call the authorities. For everyone's sake. This needs to stop.

Nine kids...?!? Sounds more like 10. A relative of yours? It doesn't really matter anyway. I was married to an alcoholic. It got old really quickly. It still took me awhile to finally realize that he needed to be responsible for himself. A marriage certificate is not a license to have to babysit. As long as you are the co-dependent, this person will continue to use you more and more each day. Please talk to someone. Plan on getting away from the situation for your sake.
