Getting back to it...

Saturday, July 19, 2014

Ok, I have been seriously MIA from Spark since wedding season went into its full swing and I am deeply regretting not keeping up. Aside from really missing all my Spark buddies I've had issues. Not big, bad, irreversible ones...more like a set back which ranges from frustrating to annoying depending on the mood you happen to catch me in.

It all started with an injury....
I was running back over the spring when all of a sudden I was in such severe pain I could barely walk. I went to the podiatrist who did scans and x-rays to make sure nothing was fractured and found out I tore a tendon and had micro-tears in a ligament in my foot. I was stuck on bed rest for two weeks. That seriously almost made me loose my mind! For those of you who really know me, you know I am a VERY active person so having to sit still and not do anything was horrible! I felt Iike I was back where I began when I started Spark. Once the foot was on the mend I got back to it, but wedding season had also begun so I was...well, busy doesn't quite cover it. Business has been BOOMING which is wonderful and I absolutely love my job so I threw everything I had into it. I was still getting lots of exercise and making healthy choices, but I guess I wasn't eating enough of the right things, since we all know eating right isn't enough. It is eating enough of the right things that really works. So, that is where I am now. Gained a few too many pounds, but nothing I know I can't shake if I focus. I am determined to get back to tracking my food and eating correctly. That said, I am currently on vacation and have spotty internet, so tracking won't begin until I return home. However, I have been making healthy choices and walking a LOT so I am feeling good about all of this! It will be good to be back in more ways that one.

I hear ya - I hurt my ankle a few months ago and can't seem to get it to heal properly :( I'm super bummed and wonder if I'll ever be able to run again which is one of my goals in general. Glad you're feeling better :)

OPTIMIST1948 & SEATTLE58, Thank you so much for welcoming me back!! I've missed you both as well. You are two of my biggest encourager/supporters!! I am really excited about getting back in the swing of things. I don't think it will be a far way for me to go since I have been eating healthy, but I really always feel better when I KNOW I am making the right decisions for my health!

As for work, things are BOOMING! It has been going so well that I actually WON AN AWARD!! I'll tell you all about it in today's blog....

MJRVIC2000, Those who know me know that once I have made a decision I make it happen. It takes me time to get to that point, usually, but once I have I am determined and driven to make it a reality. The difference between a decision and a commitment has never been a problem for me.

It's good to hear from you once again. I missed you lots and can certainly understand why you couldn't be here like you liked. So sorry you hurt your foot so bad. That would hurt! I'm glad that you feel all better and don't be so hard on yourself for working so hard with the wedding season. It sounds like you've been doing alot of moving around and now you can get back to eating right and tracking as soon as you can! Good luck to you! emoticon emoticon
