Alright Alright Alright!

That blog title couresy of Matthew McConaughey, first line he ever spoke in his movie career and the phrase he throws out when he wins awards. I think we should start every day with this phrase.

I've had a pretty negative week but I'm pulling out of it, thanks to my friends at Spark. Give yourselves a big round of applause!

I went for a run last night with my new running shoes (I spent time all week breaking them in first), my Spark People shirt and my new running skirt. I really HATE my thighs. I mean really! Every summer, I run in long, black running pants and that just feels gross in the heat.

I missed the way my running pants made me look longer and leaner. The skirt makes me look shorter and dumpier but it was nice. I felt the breeze on my legs and I felt lighter running.

After I got home, I grabbed the dog for her walk without changing. It was a great feeling not to care what people thought about how I looked for a change!

I may go out tonight and buy another one.

So it's the weekend. What do you have planned? How will you be active? I'm going to do some yoga tonight. Tomorrow another run if it doesn't rain and if it does, a fitness blender workout I've been missing.

As Loverboy sang -

"Everybody's working for the weekend"

That is a great outfit, but I'd like to see a pic of you wearing it!! I'm sure you looked great.

Join me in no longer caring what other people think of how I look! It's emancipating!! emoticon

Hey, I've been looking at those--how did the mechanics of it go? Any riding up? I'm running in my FILA tights still and they are pretty hot. Glad you ventured out of your comfort zone and excelled! P.S. 8 mile run for me this morning ;-)

I've seen ladies running around my neighbourhood in those skirts and admire how cute they look! If we could see a video of you running, I'll bet I'd have the same opinion. I guess we each have something we don't like about ourselves, but as I've grown older, I hate those parts less b/c I now realize how good they actually looked those years ago when I hated them!!!! lol

I'm going to spend time treading water in my pool today...not too much gardening as it's HOT HOT HOT here!

Hope you have a better upcoming week...and cheers to you!!!!!

Sounds like you will not be bothered so much by heat now...that's great! Tonight I hope hubby will want to walk again. He asked me two nights in a row now. I enjoy the time with him before he sits down to the computer. We may babysit the grands on Saturday. I'll spend time at the studio if I can, and on Sunday I'm spending time with my 91 year old friend. She pays me as a companion once in awhile. Good for clay money! Have a great weekend!

I bet you look very cute in your outfit. Good on you for being so active. My weekend will be quiet as we have lots of rain, strong winds and even thunder in the forecast. Enjoy your weekend.

Alright alright alright - have a great weekend and enjoy your cute new running clothes - comfort sometimes makes up for a lot when working out. You probably look awesome in that skirt.

Here's to wearing clothes that make you feel light and free!! Makes me want to dance just thinking about it, Kellie.

I've been wearing Bermuda length compression pants for running and sleeveless as well...I finally decided I don't care what anyone else thinks about my body shape or condition. I have worked hard to get where I am and I am proud. So what if I don't look perfect. Neither does anyone else. So kudos to you Kellie for accepting yourself and loving your body and not caring what anyone else thinks. It is freeing! And so much cooler for these hot summer workouts!

I glad to hear that your are back on track from your recent illness.

The running skirt is very cute! It is a sign of happiness. The fact that you bought and then wore a skirt instead of your usual running pants is proof that you are happy with yourself and I think that is the most important point of a successful healthy lifestyle.

Go for it. Buy another one.

That is a cute outfit for running and I bet the skirt is cooler than pants. I bought a new running shirt and find it is cooler to exercise in. I am also wearing sleeveless shirts even thought I think my arms do not look perfect with loose skin!

Good for you accepting yourself and staying fit with exercise!
